Chapter 01
Replacement and repair, homes and commercial buildings
The integrity of your roof is critical. When you want a roof that can withstand any weather and needs little to no maintenance, the contractor you pick matters more than the shingle on the box. Baxter Construction has roofed and repaired Yakima Valley buildings since 1995, and we are licensed, bonded and insured.
We specialize in replacement and repair, residential and commercial. A leak over one bedroom and a full tear-off on a shop building both start the same way: someone from our crew gets on the roof, looks at what is actually wrong, and tells you plainly whether it is a repair or a replacement.

High wind nailing patterns and structural repair
Central Washington roofs take real wind. How a shingle is fastened decides whether it stays put in a gust, so high wind nailing patterns are on our own list of what we do, not an upsell. They are part of how our roofers install.
When the damage goes below the shingles, we handle structural repair as well. You do not have to find one company to patch the roof and another to fix what the water or the wind did underneath it.
Chapter 03
Asbestos testing and insurance claims on storm roofs
Older roofs and the materials around them can contain asbestos, and you want to know before anything is torn off. Asbestos testing is part of our roofing work. Darren Smith, who has been with us since 2006, is a certified AHERA Building Inspector for asbestos, and Brice Baxter holds Certified Asbestos Supervisor credentials.
A storm roof is usually an insurance file too. We list assistance with insurance claims right alongside the roofing itself, and our crew has worked with insurers on wind and storm losses across the Valley for years.
If a storm has already opened your roof, start with our wind and storm damage page, because the first night is about covering it, and the replacement comes after.
